The Division 2 – SMG PVP TTK FIX

Yesterday I’ve released a fix for Assault Rifles TTK in PVP. It’s time for SMG’s, but I was thinking about mag size <-> damage compensation and in my opinion, it can be done somewhat different.

Build used for testing:

  • 50% Human Accuracy
  • 60% Crit chance
  • 130% Weapon Damage (Gear, Weapon Core Attributes, SHD Levels)
  • Contractor’s Gloves 8% Armor Damage
  • Fox Prayer’s 8% Out of cover Damage
  • Out of cover Damage on a weapon 10%
  • Wicked Talent on backpack 18% Damage
  • Obliterate Talent on check 15% Damage
  • 100% Headshot Damage
  • 150% Critical Hit Damage

Mag Size vs Damage compensation

Yes, it’s about Vector’s.

Why we cannot have a relation between mag size and accuracy and stability? Why it has to be damage? Obviously, accuracy and stability would have to be more meaningful in order for this to work. But let’s discuss it on forums, so we stay on the main topic SMG TTK PVP here or check my subjective opinion about mag size and damage compensation.

Tactical Vector SBR 9mm

It’s my personal favorite, but in my opinion compensating damage is imbalancing the game. I would rather see it in much easier to implement fashion:

  • Tactical Vector SBR 9mm – Accuracy set to 95%
  • Vector SBR 0.45 ACP – Accuracy set to 65%
  • Vector SBR 9mm – Accuracy set to 35%

And all of them have the same damage. Damage output will balance itself with the user based on his accuracy and ability to track targets with weapon accuracy.

It would be a laser, spray&pray and something in between. Much easier to tackle, than balancing damage directly for each.

Same goes for every other weapon with discrepancies in mag size. Obviously LMG has to be scaled with %.
